DIY flashlight working without batteries. Flashlight without batteries

Gradually, winter comes. The first snow has already fallen in some countries and cities. However, the main thing for us is that the days are shorter and the nights are longer. This means that you can stock up on flashlights to at least somehow fight the darkness on the streets. We present to your attention another useful homemade product, which is most relevant in the winter, due to the fact that many of us often go home from work when it is already dark.

We suggest spending a few minutes watching a video

What do we need:
- plastic spray can;
- a cylinder from a syringe;
- copper wire insulated with varnish;
- diode bridge;
- Light-emitting diode;
- off button;
- Neodymium magnets;
- a capacitor with a capacity of 47,000 and a voltage of 16 V;

Let's start making a flashlight and start by winding a copper wire onto a cylinder from a syringe. You need to wind it as tight as possible, without leaving gaps. At the end, two ends of the copper wire should remain.

We fix the resulting winding with adhesive tape. Note that you can slightly extend the ends of the copper wire, which will allow the structure to generate more energy.

We pass to the next stage of assembly. Cut out the base of the plastic spray can.

The next step is to solder the diode bridge with a capacitor. Solder the wire coming from the minus of the bridge to the wire coming from the minus of the capacitor, and the plus to the plus.

After this, it is necessary to solder the copper wires to the two remaining wires of the diode bridge.

Finally, the plus and minus contacts on the capacitor must be drawn through the switch to the LED.

Separately, we note that the LED receives energy from a capacitor, which is charged from the cylinder of the syringe. It remains to answer one question: where exactly does this energy come from? The secret is to use neodymium magnets that you need to put in the syringe and seal the cylinder bores.

After assembling the entire structure and placing it in the spray can, the flashlight will be ready for use. It works according to the following principle. In order for the capacitor to charge and be able to turn on the LED, you need to shake the flashlight well. There will be enough energy for a couple of minutes, which is enough to go through a dark alley on a winter night, because in the end, not all streets are dark and scary these days, like in horror films.

It so happened that for some reason that is not clear to me, I have a huge interest in all kinds of useful and universal devices. In this case, I want to make a short review of dynamo-lanterns (“eternal lanterns”), which can turn out to be extremely useful both in ordinary life and in survival conditions.

And also much, much and much more. Lanterns - darkness is dark. Share, post interesting ones, we will supplement this publication with them.

The community of innovative engineers invented a unique flashlight that charges from the human body. The result was an almost endless light source, albeit small, but sometimes so necessary. After all, of course, a flashlight is a device that is on the list of must-have things.

The main problem of any flashlight

A flashlight is a thing that should always be at hand, because it can be needed at any time. The flashlight will become a lifesaver when electricity is lost in the house when traveling by car. All owners of flashlights, large or small, are faced with the problem of dead batteries, which is very inconvenient, especially when it is detected at the most crucial moment. The flashlight may shine very weakly or not shine at all.

Thermoelectricity for charging a flashlight

A group of enthusiasts was able to find a solution to this problem. Why do we need batteries if a generator that accumulates thermoelectricity can be used for charging? For powerful lighting, this method, of course, is of little use, but for a pocket flashlight it is simply irreplaceable. There is enough light power to read a book in complete darkness. And the flashlight is of the smallest size (with a finger). The name of the novelty is Lumen.

What is Lumen

The case of the device is made of aluminum, and its weight is 45 grams. The thermoelectric generator is turned on, provided that there is a thermal source of energy or heat not lower than 28ºC. The human body is an ideal option, because it constantly radiates heat. By clicking on a special finger groove located on the device’s body, Lumen is activated and turned on. The mode of operation of such a flashlight is almost uninterrupted. It also has a small battery and capacitor.

The current development phase of Lumen

In the warm season, a flashlight can receive a charge even from the surrounding air, on the condition that its temperature is not lower than the set limit. Currently, the device is at the stage of crowdfunding company. To complete the project, you need to raise $ 5 thousand. In just two days the fundraising company this limit was exceeded by 228%! Entering the Lumen flashlight market is planned at the end of 2016 and will cost $ 15.

   The title of the article will seem strange to many, but soon you will understand the secret. Say: anyone needs a battery. You are partially right, the current source is really needed, but who said that the battery should be the current source? In general, I’ll tell you everything in order. The housing of the future flashlight is a suitable pipe - only plastic. We also need piezoelectric emitters from imported speakers, such piezo heads are very easy to find. It is in the piezo heads that half the secret is hidden! Some do not even imagine what kind of miracle this is and do not know about their hidden virtues.

To begin with, we will carry out a little experience. We take a piezo-emitter, solder two wires to it, and to the wires. It should be noted that the plus of the piezo head is the center, and the minus is the rest. Observing the polarity, we connect the LED to the wires, put the piezo head on the table and apply several blows to it with a pencil or any plastic object. Voila! During strokes, the LED flashes! It is this phenomenon that we will use to charge our power source.

And now the most important thing is the power source itself. Everyone is familiar with voltage capacitors and our source is a capacitor, but a capacitor with a capacity of 1 FARAD! Yes, yes, you heard right, just 1 farad. I took out such a capacitor from the panel of the car radio, but you can buy it on the radio market or in the shops of radio components, or in extreme cases, break the car radio and get it from the part where the common board with the amplifier is.

You definitely will not confuse this detail with anything: black, two legs and the inscription 5.5 volts, but this is a capacitor with a capacity of 0.3 farads. See condenser photos below. Round has a capacity of 1 farad, and a rectangular one - 0.3 farad. You can get two containers of 0.3 farads and connect in parallel or 3 pieces. Capacities of 1 farad are enough for a 5-minute LED glow. Of course, reducing the current, you can significantly increase this time.

We insert the piezo of the head into the pipe as shown in the picture, but before that we take a plastic ball and also insert it into the pipe so that it is in the space between the heads. Next, we glue the moment to the pipe with glue and wait until the glue dries. When it is high, we take silicone and re-fix the heads, thus transmitting the strength of the entire design of the flashlight. The LED is ordinary white, do not put powerful super bright ones - it will hold less charge. After one minute of shaking, the capacitor will be fully charged.

Power switch is suitable for anyone. Charging the capacitor is very simple - moving the lamp up and down. thus, the ball strikes the piezoceramic heads and the latter in turn generate current. Diodes are any low-power. You must admit that the design is simpler and practically does not require monetary expenses. Posted by AKA.

Discuss the article FLASHLIGHT WITHOUT BATTERIES

   No, guys, this will not be such a flashlight, as you have seen more than once in electrical goods stores. We suggest you build a flashlight with a special design.

As you know, flashlights are battery and electrodynamic. The flashlight case contains batteries or a magnetoelectric alternator and an reflector with an incandescent bulb.

Unlike battery and electrodynamic flashlights, there will be a small battery in our flashlight, which is like a reservoir of electrical energy. We can charge our flashlight from a home lighting network, which must be done very carefully.

Try to follow the flashlight exactly as described. The case can in no case be metal. Buy plastic or bakelite cases for flashlights in a store.

For our "eternal" flashlight we need the following details:
non-metallic case from any flashlight,
2 lantern batteries of the D-0,1 type,
2 diodes of the DG-Ts-24 type,
resistance 600 ohm / 1 watt,
resistance 1 mΩ / 0.25 W,
capacitor 0.4-0.5 microfarads / 500 V,
plug,
incandescent bulb 2.5 V / 0.1 a.

The schematic diagram of the flashlight is shown in Fig. 1. We see that the 2.5 V / 0.1 A bulb is powered by two batteries connected in series. Remember, guys, that you can’t use other bulbs (check the inscription on the base!), As this can lead to battery failure. There is a switch in the bulb circuit. The second part of the circuit is a rectifier, which serves to charge the battery from the AC mains. A circuit consisting of a capacitor and two resistances reduces the voltage to a predetermined value. Two germanium diodes rectify alternating current, because the battery is charged only with direct current.

As you can see, the electric circuit of the flashlight is not at all complicated. We mount all its parts in a flashlight case. In the bottom wall of the case we strengthen two plugs of the plug intended for connection to the socket of the lighting network during charging.

We mount all parts on a small bakelite (or from another insulating material) tile. We arrange the details arbitrarily. Do not forget that the voltage for which the capacitor is designed should not be less than 500 V. Otherwise, diodes and batteries may fail. Particular attention should be paid to the correct installation of batteries and diodes. In fig. 2 shows the appearance of the battery and marked dimensions, and in fig. 3 - one of the ways to mount it. Both batteries must be located in the holder, insulated with the gasket up. In fig. 4 there is a wiring diagram of a flashlight. It is important for the trouble-free operation of the flashlight to correctly and accurately connect both rectifier diodes according to the scheme. All connections are best soldered. The distance between the plugs (axles) of the plug must be at least 19 mm, so that they can just enter the outlet.

And finally, we remind you that you can not make any samples connecting the flashlight to the network before its final assembly. A properly built flashlight provides complete security. Charging the battery is sufficient for continuous operation of the flashlight for two and a half hours. Charging itself takes a lot of time (low current consumption from the network), so we recommend leaving the flashlight connected to the network all night.
