The most powerful ice lamps for cars. The best LED lamps for different car optics

The old man took ten brand new lamps, shining like gold, and went around the city, shouting: “Who wants to exchange old lamps for new ones? Who has old copper lamps? Change for new!

« Aladdin's magic lamp» (arabian fairy tale).

To begin with, the replacement of lamps with LEDs is formally regarded as an interference with the design of the car. In order to continue to drive such a car, you will first have to obtain a certificate of safe operation of the car. It is not easy to do this - we have seen this from our own experience,. Without a corresponding certificate, according to the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) of the Russian Federation, a fine of 500 rubles is provided for driving in such a machine. However, abnormal headlights are visible to the naked eye, and the number or direction indicator light attracts much less attention, so many car owners do not pay attention to formalities.

Why are LED lamps so attractive? I often go to authorized dealers in the repair area where the car goes through MOT. Well, I can’t leave Bibika alone with strangers - both mine and state: "Do not trust your wife and car ...". So, there are some interesting observations regarding our topic today. The entire tool, jars, consumables in the repair area of \u200b\u200bthe "working bees" are mostly cleaned and locked in lockers. Only on a shelf very often lie a small bunch of small ones. The same 5W baseless glass spray cans that are used in the front position lamps for interior lighting, direction indicator repeaters, license plate lights and many other places.

And they burn out! They burn out massively! The can blackens from the inside - this indicates that most of the spiral is already sprayed in the internal volume and has settled on the walls. The lamps that are included in the vehicle equipment sometimes do not take care even before the first or second maintenance. Of course, someone is lucky, but you will not call them durable. And we still wonder why they don’t show, the side lights do not light, and each traffic police inspector who stops you to “just smell” is suddenly dissatisfied with the unlit rear number. At the same time, manufacturers of LED lamps advertise a completely crazy life cycle, up to 50,000 hours. In the hope of an increased resource, many car owners also change lamps to LEDs.

In general, the global auto industry is gradually. The instrument cluster illumination and fault indicators on LEDs appeared in the last century. In this century, there are already mass-produced cars with all light sources working on LED technology (light-emitting diode - light-emitting diode). True, this trend has not yet reached the budget segment of cars. But owners of inexpensive or highly used cars try to stay in trend.

In addition to the increased resource and fashionable appearance, LEDs also have other, not so obvious advantages:

  • in comparison with incandescent lamps, a higher switching speed;
  • the brightness of the glow does not depend on the voltage (under certain conditions);
  • significantly lower power consumption.

Now, first things first. So, the LED, as well as the incandescent lamp, is very sensitive to overvoltage. But if for ordinary lamps no protection exists, then in high-quality LED lamps the so-called driver is used - a device that limits the current and voltage on the LED.

Quick on / off is common to all LED lamps. And this quality is very useful, for example, for brake lights. But in direction indicators, performance is not so important. When installing LED lamps in the turn signals, it must be remembered that the low-power lamp does not like the cornering relay very much, and therefore starts blinking at twice the frequency, as if one of the lamps in the circuit is faulty.

If you decide to equip the rear lights of the car with LEDs, then first install the LED in only one lamp, and leave the incandescent lamp in the other. Turn on the lamps and see if the light from the new lamp is too weak, too strong or too narrow.

What LED options are available on the market today? About this - in our photo gallery.

Recently, consumers have been paying more attention to automotive LED lamps than ever before. Led car headlights, also called LED models of automotive elements of this type, are semiconductor light sources. Low power consumption, reduced fuel consumption by the car (which is explained by a decrease in the load on the vehicle’s on-board network), a small amount of harmful components emitted into the atmosphere - all this taken together cannot leave any motorist indifferent.

Main advantages

The fact that LED optical elements or LEDs have advantages over halogens does not cause any doubts today. I would like to consider, nevertheless, their main, main advantages:

So, LED triumphantly select jobs from halogens, standard incandescent lamps. Let's say even more - today they can boast of the final, victorious sensation, because the modern car market decisively offers LED not only for electric illumination inside the cabin, as it was before, but also for head optics.

disadvantages

Many people ask, how is it possible that replacing a non-native lamp gives such amazing results? Logically, the reflector of any headlight should be adjusted to a specific light source. How then can LEDs successfully replace and surpass halogens? Let's try to figure it out.

To understand this, it is enough to conduct your own investigation. Compare the performance of classic incandescent and LED bulbs. The result is immediately amazing - for LED lamps you have to pay several times more.

Professional verification is carried out as follows:

  • first, light emission is checked on a regular screen in the room;
  • the second stage involves going to the landfill, where in real conditions the illumination of a certain section of the road is checked.

So, the majority of LEDs blind oncoming drivers if they are used as light sources of the head optics. Why is this happening? The fact is that LED lamps do not have a cut-off line and the explanation for the failure in this regard is obvious - the standard LED optics are not designed.

Note. If LED is used with its native optics, the results will be completely different, and a different arrangement of diodes instead of incandescent filaments will naturally lead to a rebuild of the light beam.

How to choose them correctly

Despite the above disadvantages, LED lamps displace the usual halogens. The price for them is not as high as before, and the possibility of producing ready-made diode lamps for head optics gives great prospects.

As for the voltage, 12 V is provided for cars, and 24 V for trucks. To protect the lamps from power surges in the vehicle's on-board network, a special driver is provided. It is universal and able to function at any voltage.

Important. You need to know that the power of the base must meet the minimum requirements, otherwise it makes no sense to put such a lamp.

When designing automotive optics by independent forces - there is nothing better and more convenient than LED lamps. Replacing them, the car owner will receive more light per watt and the components will function without significant heating.

Varieties of LED

Consider the most famous LED lamps for a car:

  • LED for front brake lights and dimensions;
  • LED for rear brake lights and dimensions;
  • LED for interior lighting;
  • For fog lights;
  • For head optics.

Now we learn more about each type, try to find out which LED lamps it is desirable to choose for a particular type.

So, let's start with the baseless lamps, which in most cases are installed in the front brake lights. The advantage in this case is that they are incredibly resistant to temperature extremes.

Note. LED "digest" the temperature of 80-100º.

On the other hand, brake lights and dimensions are located near the head optics lamps. They can not do without additional protection, otherwise the LED crystals will heat up, and this, in turn, will lead to their failure.

Note. Lamp protection means nothing more than equipping the latter with a current stabilizer. Thanks to it, an increase in current is prevented.

Samples of LED lamps of this type, ideally suited for dimensions - BA9S or T10-1WF. They are necessarily equipped with a stabilizer.

Despite this, LEDs are also available today without a stabilizer. But this does not mean that they perform worse at high temperatures. Technologies are constantly being improved and manufacturers managed to come up with a unique option - a series of SF LEDs.

Models in this series differ only in the shape and number of LEDs. As for the directivity angle, then in such lamps it is quite wide. The price of such LEDs is low. The only negative is the size mismatch with the regular place of the car.

Tip. Before installing such lamps, it is recommended to compare the hole in the headlamp and the dimensions of the LED.

A series of LED envelopes called SMD is also considered a universal option. They are distinguished by good compactness and excellent brightness indicators. The great advantage of this series can be considered the highest brightness and convenience, but the downside is their high price.

Note. It will be interesting to know that in the SMD series there are such models that can be installed on machines with computer verification. Allow this to do the tricks that the LED data is equipped with.

As for the LED for the rear lights and brake lights, in most cases, base-mounted versions of 2-pin lamps with a code of 1157 are installed.

Among other models of these varieties of LEDs, the 14HP series can be distinguished. The light source in such models are 14 single-crystal diodes.

Note. This series is a reliable solution for continuous operation. To date, they are considered the best lamps in terms of the amount of lighting emitted.

Another series of 2-pin LEDs is called 3x1W. In such models, 3 powerful LEDs act as a light generator. They work in a jet mode, they mean a bunch with a fuse, which is built into a 2-pin lamp.

Note. Lamps of the SMD series can have a different number of diodes - 15 or 27 and so on. After several experiments, it became clear that the lamp of this series with 24 LEDs would be the best option for many motorists.

Lamps for interior lighting differ in the length of the fiston. Sizes of fiston - 31 - 41 mm. In addition, such lamps are usually divided into categories:

  • installed directly into the lampshade connector. Thus, they completely replace the standard optics. The sizes of such models are fully consistent with the values \u200b\u200bof a standard lamp;
  • also installed directly in the ceiling, but large in size. Before you put them, you need to make sure that they go into the ceiling. Such lamps give significantly more light, since the number of LEDs in them is greater;
  • rectangular matrices with different numbers of diodes. If you can install them directly in the ceiling, you can solve the problem of interior lighting in the best way.

Recently in the domestic market there are more and more different bulbs for installation in optics. These devices are available both at domestic and foreign enterprises. LED today are just beginning to gain popularity, but many motorists already prefer H4 bulbs.

Description of Car LED Bulbs

What are LEDs with enhanced color? How is the connection made, what is the connection diagram, and which LED lamps are better to choose? To Xenon H4 worked well, you need to use high-quality devices and always monitor their performance.

Design

Let's start with the design of H4 lamps for the car. Such a device has an aluminum radiator, a ventilation device located at the end, as well as two diodes - low beam and high beam. In its design, H4 xenon is very similar to a halogen bulb.

In order for the H4 bi-xenon bulb to work as it should, it must be equipped with a lens. The best option in this case would be to buy factory diode headlights for high and low beam, which were already equipped with cooling radiators at the enterprise. Otherwise, the H4 lamp will not light up as expected, in particular, we are talking about distant lighting. Our car enthusiasts often note in reviews that usually the problem lies in the distant lighting. The pinout of the H4 lamp is fundamentally different from the halogen.

Operating principle

How does the H4 LED car lamp work? In the high beam operating mode, the optics operates on the principle of a conventional spotlight. That is, the spiral of the H4 car lamp, located at the focus of the parabolic reflector, when turned on, starts to produce an increased light beam parallel to the roadway at the output. The surface of the reflective component is also used for this.

As for the operating mode of the dipped lamp of the H4 car, in this case the device uses a second spiral located immediately in front of the optics focus. This spiral is covered from below by a small screen made in a special form. In this case, xenon H4 during operation eliminates part of the light flux, as a result of which a special spot is formed in the necessary form. In this mode of operation of the bulb, the upper part of the optics reflector is used, while the H4 stream itself is directed slightly downward. The luminous flux should ideally rest against the road surface in front of the vehicle for about 50 meters (video by Igor Shurar).

How does xenon h4 switch? The principle of switching is that the flask of the device moves from one position to another, unlike halogen ones, where incandescent spirals function alternately. Xenon H4 is equipped with low-beam chips, which always work, with these chips when high-beam chips are connected.

Benefits

So, what are the benefits of xenon H4:

  1. It consumes significantly less energy, which generally reduces the load on the vehicle's on-board network.
  2. Quite a high resource of operation, it is at least 50 thousand hours.
  3. Compared with halogen, xenon H4 will be more reliable when exposed to vibration and shock, due to the absence of a filament.
  4. The luminous flux possessed by the xenon in question is quite large, it ranges from 1800 to 3600 lumens.
  5. A more pleasant color of the light flux is white or blue.

What bulbs are installed in your car?

Which LED bulbs are better?

Which lamps that can increase light output are better? Below is a rating of the most optimal lamp options for installation in optics.

Option 1

This version of Chinese production is one of the most budgetary. The basis of the design of such a device is three diodes, the power of the element is from 20 to 30 watts. Such H4 xenon is powered by an external driver, and thanks to the aluminum case, heat is supplied to the cooling radiator. As for the fan itself, it functions quite quietly.

As practice shows, usually when installing such devices there are no problems, however, in some cases, the on-board computer does not want to perceive such optics. This problem can be solved by additional installation of the so-called fake resistor.

To ensure low beam, two chips are used installed across the axis itself. When the driver turns on the high beam, another chip comes into operation, which is installed in the focus of the reflector device. In fact, such a bulb uses only the upper part of the reflector to provide distant lighting. As shown with increased light output H4, this option provides smeared dipped lighting, most optimally illuminating the road only at a distance of fifteen meters.

As for the quality, it is average, one might even say - unsatisfactory. The cost of such bulbs is up to $ 40. If you want to achieve good lighting of the road, then it is better to refuse devices of this type.

Option 2

The cost of this option is around 50-55 dollars, the bulb has a built-in driver and cooling system. When the engine is running, you can hear the hum from the fan, whether to be outside the car. As practice shows, sometimes electronics from the driver can interfere with the operation of the radio. As for the design, in general, this option is similar in its structure to the above model, but there are some innovations. In particular, in order to provide good long-range illumination, the fourth chip is used in this case. A reflective device is installed next to the diodes, above and below, which allows 100% use of the light flux from the lamp.

Despite the fact that the diodes themselves are located on the same line, they are not installed on the same axis, but albeit slightly, but are shifted down or up. As for the low beam, they are not along the axis, but across. Of course, in the end, this affects the focus of lighting from the negative side - when the dipped lighting works, only two chips function, when the backlight is turned on, two more chips are activated. That is, in fact, this is not distant lighting, but near + far.

Option 3

The vertical layout of the LEDs of this sample is supplemented by a special screen for dipped lighting, the price for a set of such bulbs is about $ 50. It should be noted that the kit is complemented by a light filter in the form of a sleeve, as a result of which it is possible to lower the color temperature, that is, make it yellow. The bulbs of this sample are made on the basis of four diodes, and consuming 40 watts, they should give out about 4,500 lumens, declared by the manufacturer, only this, of course, is not true.

As with the above options, when activating the high beam, a second beam is activated, supplementing the lighting of the near beam. Thanks to the presence of special screens, the shadow and shadow border is better traced - at least it is, in contrast to the options described above. In practice, the right side is not lit as well as we would like, but the brightness of such xenon is much higher when compared with halogen lamps.

Option 4

Such a Chinese-made H4 xenon is fundamentally different from the samples described above. The bulb design includes 16 small diodes located along the optical axis. The switching principle is similar to devices with a filament spiral - groups of LED elements operate separately and are switched on in turn to provide near and far light.

The diodes responsible for the low beam are covered by a screen. The cost of this sample is about $ 65, if ordered directly in China. If you decide to purchase the kit in the store locally - add another $ 15-20 to the price.

The principle of cooling the device is passive, it is associated with low power consumption. There is no fan, which means the device cannot fail if it breaks, however, as a result, more severe conditions are applied to the cooling of the radiator. The lamp shines well in both low and high light - in fact, the brightness level is slightly less than 3 thousand lumens. When operating in low beam mode, the diodes form a light beam with a clear upper boundary. In general, it can be argued that this option is the most optimal in terms of technological as well as structural technologies.

LED lamps are a breakthrough in the technology of all auto lamps. Thanks to them, your car will be well noticed not only at night, but also during the day, which, of course, has a positive effect on road safety. In addition, your car will get a completely different, stylish look.

LED car lamps in Moscow are not very popular yet, compared to the usual halogen and xenon ones, they are quite expensive, and not everyone knows about their advantages, so motorists prefer to buy familiar lamps. However, we cannot tell about the advantage of LED automotive lamps in Moscow.

First of all - what worries everyone is the economic component. Yes, in Moscow led lamps are quite expensive, but this apparent high cost will pay off in the first months of use. Firstly, due to their technology, they, giving light even brighter than ordinary lamps, consume energy 10 times less than conventional halogen autolamps, and this significantly reduces the load on both the battery and the generator, increasing their service life. Even if you leave the headlights turned on for the night, equipped with LED lamps in Moscow, in the morning the battery will not be discharged, and you can safely start the engine. Secondly, LED autolamps in Moscow last much longer, so you can almost forget what a bulb burns out in the headlight. But each replacement of a light bulb is associated not only with its purchase in the store, but also with the waste of time needed to visit a car service, not to mention the cost of its services. If the life of a xenon lamp is about 2000 hours, then the led lamps available in Moscow will last you about 10 years. And even if one of the LEDs burns out, the autolamp itself will not go out.

LED lamps are very unpretentious, they are not sensitive to vibration, or to various kinds of mechanical damage, or to differences in the car’s electrical circuit. It is also worth noting their low sensitivity to high humidity, which expands the use of LED autolamps in Moscow.

LED car lamps sold in Moscow practically do not emit heat; accordingly, the design of the headlight and its coating will remain intact.

Other advantages of LED autolamps in Moscow include their ignition time, which exceeds not only xenon, but even ordinary halogen lamps. There are a lot of color modifications of led lamps available in Moscow, which allows not only to use them in the main headlamps, but mainly in the side lights, brake lights. According to statistics, the braking distance of a vehicle in the rear is 6 times greater if the front one uses led lamps in Moscow.

Modern manufacturers make LED autolamps for almost all types of vehicles, with the same caps as conventional halogen lamps. Installation of led lamps in Moscow is simple, there is no need to install additional equipment.
